Collection: Kim Timmermans

Kim Timmermans is a Dutch illustrator and graphic designer based in Antwerp. Working primarily with watercolour, coloured pencil, marker, and mixed media, she creates illustrations that combine a handmade quality with a strong sense of colour, texture, and atmosphere. Her work ranges from editorial and food illustration to personal projects that explore more narrative and imaginative themes.

Nature, food, memory, and human connection are recurring sources of inspiration throughout her practice. Many of her illustrations are rooted in everyday observations, yet they often carry a dreamlike quality that transforms familiar subjects into more poetic and reflective scenes. Themes of longing—for nature, for belonging, and for moments from the past—appear regularly in her work, creating a quiet emotional thread across different projects.

Kim’s illustrations balance careful observation with a playful sense of storytelling. Whether depicting food, botanical subjects, or imagined worlds, she uses colour and composition to create images that feel both intimate and inviting. Her approach is guided by a fascination with the small details that shape daily life and the stories that emerge from them.

Combining traditional techniques with a contemporary visual language, Kim Timmermans creates work that is equally at home in editorial, publishing, branding, and cultural contexts, while maintaining a distinctly personal and handcrafted character.
